Procedure
If you would like to publish your working paper in COMPASSS Working Papers, please send your paper, in Word format (NB: not PDF) to the Managing Editor, Maarten Vink. Every paper should include a cover page with the title of the paper, an abstract, and the name and contact details of the author. Graphs and tables should be included at the end of the document. There are no further style criteria, but authors are expected to use an internationally accepted reference system and to present their paper in a readable format.
Every submitted paper will be examined by two reviewers, who are asked for a general statement about the quality of the paper and to provide the author(s) with some comments in a few bullet-points (strong points / points to be improved). Reviewers are normally members from the editorial committee, but exceptionally external reviewers may also be asked for a brief report. The managing editor will decide, based on the review reports, whether the paper meets the quality standards for publication in the Working Paper series. We aim to publish papers within four weeks of submission.
After publication as COMPASSS Working Paper authors are free to submit their paper to a journal or to publish the paper elsewhere. Authors retain full copyright. As a courtesy to our reviewers we do expect authors not to submit their work simultaneously to other journals or working papers series while the paper is under review with us.
NB: authors who are not sure whether their paper is « ripe » to be submitted as a working paper and would like to receive feedback on specific issues can post their draft paper or ask specific questions to the broader community through the Mailing-list.
